Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle and relaxing massage that facilitates the movement of lymphatic fluid to improve circulation, reduce swelling and decongest the body’s tissues

Lymphedema Therapy

Lymphedema Therapy, also known as Complete Decongestive Therapy, is used to treat primary lymphedema (congenital) and secondary lymphedema (acquired, due to damage to lymphatic system). It's a gentle, noninvasive therapy that consists of Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage, compression therapy, exercises and skin care.

Occupational Therapy (OT) is a client- centered, rehabilitative holistic therapy which uses everyday life activities (occupations) to promote independence, health and well-being. Occupational Therapists have strong knowledge of a person's psychological, physical, social and emotional makeup which assists in evaluating how your condition (or risk of developing one) is affecting your body and mind.

Benefits

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) massage will benefit almost anyone. It can help the body recover from injuries and pre- and post surgeries, aid in recovery from viral and bacterial illness, Lyme Disease, mold toxicity, and allergies. MLD can also help with recovery from inflammation and illnesses like fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis, and provide relief from symptoms related to Lymphedema and chronic venous insufficiency disease. Further, MLD stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system by reducing stress and promoting relaxation. It increases the pain threshold and pain tolerance and improves pain control while decreasing inflammation.

Certified Lymphedema Therapy

Lymphedema is a chronic disorder affecting up to 10 million Americans. Due to its chronic nature, Lymphedema needs to be treated by a Certified Lymphedema Therapist in order to prevent further progression of disease and stabilize condition. Certified Lymphedema Therapists are trained in Complete Decongestive Therapy which is the gold standard for treating Lymphedema. Complete Decongestive Therapy consists of Manual Lymphatic Draining massage, compression bandaging, remedial exercises, skin and nail care, and instructions in self care

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy is a client- centered, rehabilitative holistic therapy which uses everyday life activities (occupations) to promote independence, health and well-being. Occupational Therapy helps to develop, recover and/or maintain skills that support independence such as: ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting), functional mobility (functional transfers, functional ambulation, balance), and iADLs (cooking, cleaning, medication management, community integration, etc.). Occupational Therapy is recommended for many conditions such as recovery from injury or trauma, stroke, spinal cord injuries, chronic conditions including cancer and MS, certain disabilities like developmental delays and autism, and many more.
